Yet our engagement model always starts with an initial consultation. During this site visit, we’ll start uncovering your project requirements, answer your questions, and help you understand potential considerations. From there, we’ll work with you to shape the engagement based on your needs and dreams.
Our boutique size and broad experience enables us to flexibly serve our clients. We will happily partner with you on a wide range of interior and exterior projects, whether you are tweaking a small space or re-envisioning your home from scratch. We also occasionally serve as owner’s representatives to provide you confidence that your interests are safeguarded during your projects with other contractors.
Our story
New Amsterdam Builders understands the importance of creating a beautiful home, because we started with our own.
Owner and founder Jason Riggs earned his construction stripes by renovating his own multi-family buildings in Queens, New York, taught by his family who were master carpenters, plumbers, and more. By personally hammering every nail and crafting every corner by hand himself, he acquired intimate knowledge of the trades. His apartments became Airbnb Super Host experiences, exceptional long-term rentals, and his own beautiful home. His obsessive attention to detail led to opportunities with professional decorators and the decision to expand into client work.
Now, we sweat the details for your home, too. As a boutique general contractor, we partner with a select group of clients (many of whom we are now proud to call our good friends) so that we can prioritize collaborative working relationships and hands-on project management. We believe our background as one of the few general contractors with intimate first-hand expertise in nearly every trade sets us apart and enables us to bring clients on the journey with us via transparent decision making, a love for client education, a passion for excellence, and a customized approach to each project.
